What makes the “Portrait” machine different from other skin lasers?

The “Plasma” energy, delivered to the skin by the “Portrait” machine, is the first and only treatment scientifically proven to regenerate the inside of the skin. Its unique “plasma gas” mechanism initiates new collagen formation very deep below the skin surface. This creates tighter skin and a lifting effect that continuously increases over 6 months to a year!

How does the “Portrait” work ?

The “Portrait” is a machine that blows puffs of hot gas (energized Nitrogen gas) which delivers energy deep into the skin, causing a progressive building of small amounts of new collagen weekly, for up to one year.

What is a session like ?

You will experience a mild burning sensation during the procedure, similar to the snap of a rubber band. A topical anesthetic cream is generally applied before the procedure. A session (including the full face) usually takes around 30 minutes. The treatment takes place in our clinic, under medical supervision.

Is there any preparation before the “Plasma” treatment ?

The plasma treatment consists of two phases:

  • Phase 1: The skin preparation program, which lasts 4 to 8 weeks.

  • Phase 2: The “Plasma” treatment.

Fees for this treatment are paid in two installments: first a deposit, followed by the payment of the balance at a later date. The fees cover all consultations with the office assistants and all phone inquiries. The initial set of skin products, necessary for the average preparation, is supplied to you at no cost. Additionally, certain medications are prescribed to you during the course of the treatment, and may be purchased from any pharmacy.

However, if you have had a peel or a laser resurfacing recently, with Dr. Fanous, you will not require any preparation.

What downtime should I expect following treatment ?

Downtime is minimal. There will be some mild redness and flaking of the skin. The outer layer of the skin may become wrinkled and darker in color, and may shed 2 to 3 days after the treatment. You are generally presentable within 3 days.

How many treatments do I need ?

The ideal treatment regimen is one session every six months.

What kind of skin changes can I expect to see ?

You will see improved skin tightness as well as better texture, tone and glow. You will also notice a reduction of wrinkles due to the new healthier collagen growth inside your skin.

How long will the effect last ?

One of the most amazing and unique advantages of “Portrait” is the fact that it continues to stimulate collagen over time. Clinical studies have shown that the skin improvement increases monthly for at least one year after each treatment.

Is the “Portrait” procedure safe ?

The “Portrait” procedure has demonstrated an excellent safety profile in clinical studies, with possible but low incidence of complications, such as: redness, hypopigmentation, hyperpigmentation, scarring, etc...
